Kipp is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming.  He has worked in the substance abuse and mental health field since 1989 and as a licensed therapist since 1996.  His professional experience spans several service sectors including:

  • secondary and higher education,
  • community mental health,
  • residential treatment,
  • youth corrections, and
  • substance abuse prevention and treatment.

Andrew has been with High Country Counseling since 1997.  Andrew works with individuals, families, groups and couples.  He believes in a solutions focused approach.

Andrew’s family is his number one priority and the greatest source of happiness in his life.  He also enjoys anything he can find to do in the outdoors.

Leah Black joined the High Country team in August 2009. Prior to moving to Star Valley, Leah had been working for Children and Family Services in Washington State. She has also worked with adolescents in a residential treatment center, worked as a parent trainer, and assisted disabled clients while working at the Oregon Commission for the Blind.  Leah enjoys working with a wide variety of clients.  Her areas of practice include, but are not limited to, marital counseling, working with adolescents, and working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and many other mental health illnesses.  She is available to see clients at Star Valley High School, HCBH Alpine office or HCBH main office in Afton.

Originally from Louisiana, Holland values relationships and enjoys assisting with their healthy development and growth. She is equally comfortable with children, adolescents, and adults, whether working in an individual, couple, or family setting. She specializes in issues concerning marginalized cultures, sexuality, and spirituality, and also practices play therapy.

An animal and music lover, Holland enjoys stretching, dancing, cooking, and the great outdoors. Clients and friends describe her as honest, compassionate, and inspiring.

Ann Sanderson

Ann has worked for HCBH since 1991.  She is currently the Business Manager.

Ann and her husband raised their 3 boys in Lincoln County and they are proud grandparents of 13 grandchildren.  Ann is involved in community groups and enjoys her association with people.

Kelly began working at High Country Behavioral Health in May of 2007. Kelly was raised in Star Valley and graduated from SVHS in 1997. After graduation she relocated to Pocatello, Idaho and attended Idaho State University obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.

Kelly is happy to be back in Lincoln County and enjoys hunting and fishing with her three sons and husband as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Jennifer Schmidt
Mental Health Technician

Jennifer came to HCBH in June, 2010 to embrace the new Case Manager position. Through Grand Canyon University, she is a graduate student pursuing a dual Master’s in Addiction Counseling and Professional Counseling; anticipated graduation dates are May 2012 and June 2013 respectively. “I am so honored and thrilled that through my job I get to help others either remember or discover their own strength. I work closely with the amazing HCBH Counselors to connect clients with community resources to help smooth some of the rough patches on their journey in life. I also help facilitate adult substance abuse groups and soon adolescent groups as well.”
In 2004, she graduated from Arizona State University with a Business Management degree. She moved to Thayne, WY  from Gilbert, AZ last September. Though she has never lived where it snows, she absolutely loves Wyoming. She has been pleasantly surprised at how easy the adjustment has been for both herself and her mini-schnauzer Bogie. “Star Valley is so incredibly beautiful with such wonderful people. It is hard not to love it here.”
